THE MOST COMMON QUESTIONS

  • Can I wear Hanfu if I'm not East Asian/Chinese?
    Yes! But, as long as you wear it properly, respectfully, and in a non-sexual way. It's a nuanced question, as is all questions regarding wearing of cultural clothing. However, most Chinese appreciate seeing foreigners wear hanfu! If you don't feel comfortable with wearing a full hanfu set, maybe start with HanYuanSu 汉元素 (see our "Learning the History" page to learn more about it!) which is a modernized version of hanfu meant for everyone to enjoy!
  • Can I change the shipping address on my order?
    We are happy to change the shipping address for you! Please contact us through email (nuwahanfu@gmail.com) with the subject line "Changing Shipping for Order #__" and send address that needs to be changed. We can only make changes to your order before packaging (usually 24 hours after you placing the order). Please note that during periods of high order volume, such as big promotions, your order changes may be restricted.
  • Can I modify my order after I've placed it?
    We are happy to change the order items for you! If you chose the wrong color or sizing for an item, please contact us through email (nuwahanfu@gmail.com) with the subject line "Modifying Shipping for Order #__" and send your order number and the items that needs to be changed. You may also use the contact form on the website. We can only make changes to your order before packaging (usually in 5 hours after you placing the order).
  • I am missing item(s) in my order / My products are damaged
    We do our best to improve logistic and packaging, but occasionally some circumstances may occur. Please contact us through email (nuwahanfu@gmail.com) with the subject line "Missing Items/Products Damaged for Order #__" within 7 days after the delivery. You may also contact us through the contact form on the website. For damaged products, please prepare photos of the broken product in original packaging as well as your order number. For missing items, please prepare photos of your package and receipt to prove you have not received the correct order. We will re-deliver the missing products as soon as possible. Products that have been discontinued will be refunded for you.
  • Can I cancel my order?
    If you contact us within 24 hours through email (nuwahanfu@gmail.com) with the subject line "Canceling Order #__" then you may cancel as long as we haven't shipped it out yet. You may also contact us through the contact form on the site.
  • When will my order ship?
    We usually dispatch them within 2-5 business days (business days do not include weekends or holidays). Order processing may take longer during promotion and events. Thank you for your understanding and patience. We will do our best to deliver all orders in time. Once your order is dispatched, you will receive a shipping notification email. (Please check your spam folder if you cannot find it in your email)
  • Can I return my order / get a refund?
    Your shopping experience at Nüwa Hanfu means a lot to us. We are happy to offer returns or exchanges. If you are not satisfied with your purchase (and live in the USA), please contact us through the contact page or email (nuwahanfu@gmail.com) with the subject line "Returning/Refund Order #__" within 7 days when you get your package. Customers are responsible for the return fee from your place to our warehouse. For international orders, we are unable to return or refund items. We are sorry for the inconvenience to our international customers.
  • How do I return damaged item(s)?
    If products are damaged in your order, please do not hesitate to contact us through email (nuwahanfu@gmail.com) with the subject line "Returning Damaged Items for Order #__" within 7 days. Please provide pictures of damaged items in your email. Our customer service will assist you with the return and refund. For international customers, unfortunately we are unable to accept damaged items from abroad. Please provide pictures of damaged items and we will assist you with a refund.
  • How do I know my correct sizing?
    Please refer to the sizing charts included in product photos and measure yourself accordingly. If you receive the hanfu/product and it does not fit and you would like to return it, please email (nuwahanfu@gmail.com) with the subject line: "Incorrect Size for Order #__" and your order number and receipt. We will help with return and/or refund. Customers are responsible for the return fee from your residence to our warehouse. For international customers, we are unfortunately unable to replace incorrect sizes due to shipping costs. We apologize for the inconvenience for our international customers.
  • When will out of stock products be restocked?
    Limited edition items that go out of stock may be permanently out of stock. For those that are not limited edition, they usually get restocked around 1-5 weeks. You can sign up for our email list to be notified once it's back in stock! Nüwa Hanfu is always rotating our stock so that you get the highest quality hanfu around the year.
